Information on the Startup
LED's CHAT is a startup of Aix-Marseille University. Based on a patented technology, it develops prototypes of light systems capable of driving a large number of LED (thousands and more) to create light installations of large dimensions, modular in their forms, interactive with the environment, including an intelligence vehicle with autonomous algorithms.
Originally, this project was pursuing a pedagogical purpose, attend to computer science students, on the application of the distributed programming on a concrete case algorithms. This didactic objective gave rise to the development of a programming environment of such algorithms applied to sets of LED drive and a first prototype of physical implementation of "smart lamp unit" was designed (hexagonal form).
Following this work, a Marseille Provence European capital of culture 2013 project was proposed and accepted in the official program. Supported by MP2013 as well as by the AMU, a new prototype of e-card could be designed. It was manufactured in a little over 500 copies to complete installation "LED's CHAT", exposed on 4 November 2013 to January 31, 2014, at the House of the PACA Region in Marseille . Students from the École d'Architecture de Marseille brought their design competition for the "stage" of installing panels.
